Make disciples who make disciples

Each week as a church, we spend daily time with God. We know that others in our church family are also reading the same scriptures, praying about similar things, and listening for the Holy Spirit to lead us individually and as a church. We invite you to join us.

SCRIPTURE READINGS & PRAYERS for the week of
June 9 - June 15, 2024

Theme of the week: Ambassadors of Reconciliation

Affirmation: Father in heaven, you have reconciled the world through your Son, and you have filled us with your Holy Spirit so that we might bear witness to your love as ambassadors of reconciliation. Amen.

Psalm: 41

Psalm Prayer: O God, our God, may we be counted among the blessed who remember those in the margins of society. And, as we work to bring news of your reconciliation to the poor, the orphan, the widow, and the alien, may those who speak ill of us also come to know your healing restoration.

Reflection/Prayers: Silent/Written Prayers; For the World, for Others, for Myself

Offering of Self to God: As Jesus identified his vocation, so also may we identify ours: “To preach good news to the poor, to proclaim release to the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to liberate the oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor” (Luke 4:18-19). Amen.

Blessing:Let us go forth with the good news of reconciliation, bringing those who alienate into right relationship with those who are alienated so that all may know the reconciling love of God. Amen.

The Church of the Nazarene strongly believes in discipling people in the ways of Jesus, and then inviting them to disciple others in the ways of Jesus. Disciples who make disciples. We know that sometimes we need to be resourced on how to do that, both in our own lives and as we disciple others in the way of Jesus. Join us in making disciples.
